The Community and Education Policy Alliance (CEPA) expresses serious concern over the Montgomery County Board of Education's adoption of “Modified Option H,” a decision reached through a process that lacked transparency, consistency, and meaningful community input. Families repeatedly raised concerns about rushed timelines, late-stage changes, and inadequate opportunities for stakeholder engagement—concerns that were simply ignored.

Consequently, CEPA has retained the law firm of Silverman Thompson to assist in exploring all available legal options to challenge the implementation of “Modified Option H,” including claims arising from procedural deficiencies, inequitable impacts on students and families, and potential violations of State and Federal law.

“Decisions affecting thousands of students demand a fair and deliberative process. We have serious concerns that, unfortunately, this did not happen here,” said attorney Patrick Seidel. “We will take all necessary steps to protect the rights of the families affected by this plan.”
